📦 Stock Valuation Report

Understand your stock value as at a point in time, with flexible filters to analyse inventory by supplier, category, and quantity status.

Updated this week

💡 Why use the Stock Valuation Report

The Stock Valuation Report provides a point‑in‑time view of the value of parts held in stock in Auxo Workshop.

This report is commonly used to:

  • Review stock on hand for accounting or month‑end purposes

  • Support inventory reconciliation with accounting software

  • Identify slow‑moving, zero‑value, or negative stock

  • Analyse stock value by supplier or category

  • Sense‑check average cost and quantity values

The report reflects current inventory state as at a selected date and updates dynamically as filters are applied.

📍 How to access the report

  • Open Reports from the side menu

  • Locate Stock Valuation in the list of available reports

  • Click the report name to open it

🧭 Understanding the report layout

Once opened, the Stock Valuation Report appears as a dynamic list, similar to other Auxo Workshop reports.

The screen is made up of:

  • A search bar for quickly finding specific parts

  • A filter bar for refining the data shown

  • A results table showing stock details per part

  • A grand total row summarising total stock value

  • Export options for PDF and CSV

🔎 Search and filters

Filters can be used individually or in combination. The report refreshes automatically as filters are applied.

📅 As of Date

The As of Date filter controls the date the stock position is calculated for.

Available options:

  • Today: Shows stock based on the current system date

  • Custom: Allows selection of a specific historical date

This is useful when reviewing stock at month‑end or reconciling against accounting balances for a prior period.

Note: As of dates cannot be set earlier than February 2026, as this is when the required data foundation for these reports was established.

📦 Quantity on Hand

The Quantity on Hand filter controls which stock positions are included.

Available options:

  • Positive stock: Parts with a quantity greater than zero

  • Negative stock: Parts with a quantity below zero

  • Zero stock: Parts with no stock on hand

Multiple options can be selected at the same time.
This filter is commonly used to identify negative stock or review obsolete items.

🧾 Supplier

The Supplier filter limits the report to parts linked to a specific supplier.

  • Begin typing to search for a supplier

  • Select one or more suppliers from the list

This is useful when reviewing stock exposure with a particular supplier or validating supplier‑specific inventory.

🗂️ Category

The Category filter limits the report to parts assigned to selected categories.

  • Begin typing to search categories

  • Select one or more categories from the list

This can help analyse stock value across product types such as tyres, brakes, accessories, or consumables.

📊 Report columns explained

Each row in the report represents a single stocked part.

Common columns include:

  • Part No / Code: The internal or supplier part identifier

  • Description: The part name or description

  • Supplier: The default supplier assigned to the part

  • Category: The part category

  • Retail Price: The configured retail selling price

  • Average Cost: The current average cost calculated by the system

  • Quantity on Hand: The quantity available as at the selected date

  • Total Value: Calculated as average cost multiplied by quantity on hand

The Grand Total row at the bottom shows the total stock value for all listed parts based on the current filters.

📤 Exporting the report

The report can be exported using the buttons in the top‑right corner:

  • Export to PDF for sharing or archiving

  • Export to CSV for further analysis in spreadsheets

Exports respect the selected filters and as of date.

✅ Things to keep in mind

  • The report reflects inventory state, not accounting journals

  • Average cost values may change over time as stock is purchased and invoiced

  • Small differences between this report and accounting balances are normal

  • Filters significantly affect totals, especially Quantity on Hand

For accounting reconciliation workflows, this report is typically used alongside other inventory and WIP reports.
