šŸ“ø Auxo Workshop Mobile App – Managing Photos

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Welcome to your complete guide for capturing, viewing, and managing job photos in the Auxo Workshop mobile app!

Photos are a powerful way to document work, share information with your team, and keep a visual record of every job. Photos added from the Mobile App can be viewed in the Auxo Workshop web app and vice-versa!

šŸš€ Accessing Photos

  • Open any job in the Auxo Workshop mobile app.

  • Tap the Photos icon in the bottom navigation bar (look for the camera šŸ“ø).

  • This opens the Photos screen for the current job.

šŸ—‚ļø Photo Groups: Job vs Estimate

  • At the top of the Photos screen, you’ll see two buttons: Job and Estimate.

    • Job: Photos added during the job (e.g., before/after shots, in-progress work).

    • Estimate: Photos originally attached to the estimate for this job.

  • Each button shows a count of how many photos are in that group (e.g., Job (2), Estimate (1)).

  • Tap either button to switch between groups.

šŸ‘€ Viewing Photos

  • All photos for the selected group are shown as thumbnails in a grid.

  • Tap any thumbnail to open a larger preview of the image.

  • In preview mode, tap the image again to view it full screen.

  • Tap the X in the top right to close full screen mode and return to the preview.

āž• Adding Photos

  • The first tile in the grid (top left) is always an Add Photo button (camera icon).

  • Tap Add Photo to choose:

    • From Camera: Take a new photo using your device’s camera (you may need to grant camera permission).

    • From Photo Library: Select an existing photo from your device’s gallery (you may need to grant gallery permission).

  • After capturing or selecting a photo, you’ll see a preview:

    • Tap Confirm to accept the photo, or Retake to try again.

    • Tap Save to add the photo to the job, or Cancel to discard.

    • (Optional) Add a note to the photo before saving.

šŸ“ Adding Internal Notes to Photos

  • Below each photo preview, there’s a text box for notes.

  • Type notes to provide extra context (e.g., ā€œDamage before repairā€ or ā€œCompleted installā€).

  • Notes on photos are for internal use only and are never shared with the customer.

šŸ”„ Syncing Photos

  • Photos added in the mobile app are instantly available in the Auxo Workshop web app, and vice versa.

  • You can view, add, and manage photos from either platform.

šŸ› ļø Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Can’t see the Photos icon? Make sure you’re viewing a specific job—Photos is only available from the Job Details screen.

  • Permissions: If prompted, allow the app to access your camera and/or photo library.

  • Photo not uploading? Check your internet connection and try again.

  • Photo orientation: If a photo appears sideways, rotate your device before taking the picture.

šŸ’” Best Practices

  • Take clear, well-lit photos to document work quality and job progress.

  • Use notes to explain what’s shown in each photo.

  • Add ā€œbeforeā€ and ā€œafterā€ shots for repairs or installations.
