✅ How to use this reference
This guide lists every check available in SmartCheck Pro for Passenger Vehicle, Motorcycle, and Trailer inspections so inspectors (and Axel) have full context while working through a check sheet.
Vehicle Details is the first section for all inspection types, but the required fields differ by type. See Vehicle Details: required fields by inspection type below.
You may see warnings if odometer entries are unusually high or a VIN mismatch is detected.
Each check supports Pass, Fail, Warning, or N/A.
Use comments and measurements where required (e.g., brake percentages, tyre tread depth).
Wheel-position abbreviations used throughout: LF = Left Front, RF = Right Front, LR = Left Rear, RR = Right Rear (Tyre Tread Depth, Service Brake Performance). LH = Left Hand, RH = Right Hand (Park Brake Performance).
Sections turn green when every check inside that section is complete. See What makes a check and a section complete below.
Pass Remaining is available when you’ve verified remaining items and are ready to finalise.
In a Recheck, previously passed items can be updated if needed (they can fail on re-inspection).

📝 Note: Trailer tyre readings. On a Trailer inspection, all four tyre boxes (LF, RF, LR, RR) show red when they are empty, and the empty ones turn amber once you have entered a reading in at least one. Only one reading is needed for C7 to count as complete. For a two-wheel trailer or caravan, enter the LR and RR readings and leave LF and RF blank. Reading boxes only accept numbers, so you can't type N/A. If tyres don't apply, set the check itself to N/A.

🧭 What makes a check and a section complete
A check is complete once it has a result: Pass, Fail, Warning, or N/A.
A Fail result also needs a Reason, and a Warning result also needs a Comment.
N/A counts as complete and needs no readings.
Checks with readings also need values entered:
C7 Tyre Tread and Depth: Passenger Vehicle needs all four readings (LF, RF, LR, RR). Trailer and Motorcycle need at least one.
R1 Service Brake Performance: choose Readings or Percentage, then enter at least one value. One reading is enough.
R3 Park Brake Performance: choose Readings, Percentage or Stall Test, then fill in at least one value.
A section turns green when every check in it is complete.
On the Review screen, each section shows a count such as 4 / 5, with a green border once the two numbers match. The Complete or Submit to VIC button stays greyed out until every section is complete.
📝 Note: Warnings on readings are prompts only. A tyre tread reading below 1.5 mm shows Min allowed is 1.5, and a reading between 1.5 and 2 mm shows Near threshold. Brake percentages show similar minimum prompts. These messages never stop a check from counting as complete.
📝 Note: Pass All and Pass Remaining. These set a Pass result on checks that don't have one yet, but they don't enter any readings. C7, R1, R3 and U1 stay incomplete until their readings are entered.
📝 Note: Readings of 0. A reading of 0 is accepted while you are working on the inspection, but it isn't kept when you save and reopen the inspection, so the box shows as empty again. After reopening an inspection, check that every tyre box you filled in still has a value.
🚘 Vehicle Details: required fields by inspection type
The Vehicle Details section is complete when all of the fields required for the inspection type have been filled in.

📝 Note: Vehicle Details can show as incomplete with nothing in red. The six VIN confirmation boxes and an odometer reading of 0 don't turn red, but they still count as missing for Passenger Vehicle and Motorcycle inspections. Year, Make and Model sit further down the page, so scroll down to check they are filled in. On a Trailer, the VIN box shows an asterisk, but a trailer with a registration doesn't need a VIN. You don't need to enter a placeholder VIN.
🧭 Results, comments, and measurements: quick guidance
Use Pass, Fail, Warning, or N/A for each item
Enter measurements when fields are shown (e.g., Tyre Tread & Depth, Brake Performance)
Add comments where helpful for future reference or rechecks
Sections only turn green when all included items are complete
In a Recheck, the system scopes you to failed items, but you can review any item within a section and update its result

Click Print / Email (bottom right) to choose Print or Email
Print opens a preview with the full check sheet
Email opens the Send Email screen with dynamic placeholders; Include Checksheet is available
