✅ What You Can Configure
The System Configuration section lets you control key details for your SmartCheck Pro account:
Organisation details for NZTA compliance
VIC Integration**
Inspection section order
Security settings (Two-Factor Authentication)
**VIC Integration is where you turn NZTA’s VIC (WOF Online) submission on or off, and where a warning about what enabling it does is always shown. Once enabled, SmartCheck Pro validates your MS Authority Number with NZTA, and once validated, the vehicle types your organisation is authorised to inspect will be listed here too.
🔍 Accessing System Configuration
Click Settings → System Configuration in the left-hand menu.
You’ll see options grouped into:
Organisation Details
VIC Integration
Inspection Section Order
Two-Factor Authentication
✅ Organisation Details
Keep these fields accurate for NZTA compliance:
Organisation Name
Country
MS Authority Number
Address
Phone Number
Email Address
📝 Note: This MS Authority Number belongs to your organisation. It's separate from the Authority No. recorded against each individual inspector on their staff record.
🔌 VIC Integration
The VIC Integration section is where you turn NZTA’s VIC (WOF Online) submission on or off, using the Enable VIC (WOF Online) submission toggle.
This warning is shown here at all times, whether the toggle is on or off:
⚠️ Important: Enabling will retrieve vehicle and inspection information from VIC lookup. Submitting a completed inspection will update the vehicle’s records in VIC (WOF Online).
Once VIC integrated mode is enabled, SmartCheck Pro validates your MS Authority Number with NZTA. Once validated, this section also lists the vehicle types your organisation is authorised to inspect:
Motorcycles
Light motor vehicles (private car/van/truck/other)
Light trailers (GVM not exceeding 3500kg)
Heavy vehicles (exempt from CoF)
Vintage/Veteran Vehicle
Vintage/Veteran Motorcycle
These groups are based on your NZTA authorisation and cannot be changed here.
✅ Inspection Section Order
Drag and drop to change the order of inspection sections (Interior, Lights, Chassis Underbody, Exterior, Road Brake Test, Under Bonnet)
Useful if you want to follow a different workflow in your workshop
✅ Two-Factor Authentication
Toggle to enable extra security for all users
When enabled, staff will need to provide a verification code at login using Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator apps on their mobile devices.
🔍 Key Points to Remember
Organisation details and MS Authority Number must be correct for compliance
Authorised inspection groups are read-only and based on NZTA approval
The VIC Integration warning is shown whether VIC (WOF Online) submission is turned on or off
Reordering sections only changes the workflow order, not the checks themselves
Enable Two-Factor Authentication for added security
