Enter, review, and correct odometer, hubometer, and hour readings on a job, even after it's already been invoiced.
Every job in Auxo Workshop includes a Readings section for recording the vehicle's odometer, hubometer, and hours. This article covers where to find it, how blank readings behave, and how to fix a reading on a job that's already been invoiced.
🧭 Where You Can Enter a Reading
The Readings card appears in more than one place:
Job screen – in the top section of the job card. This is the main place readings are recorded day to day.
Estimate screen – the same Readings card also appears on estimates.
Vehicle Details page – under Contacts > Vehicles, opening a vehicle shows its own Readings section, which updates that vehicle's running reading directly.
Auxo Workshop Mobile app – readings can be entered from the job, or from a prompt shown when relevant.
Each reading type has its own field and a unit dropdown beside it:
Odometer (km or mi)
Hubometer (km or mi)
Hours (hrs)
The unit shown by default depends on your country setting, but can be changed using the dropdown.
✏️ Leaving a Reading Blank
If a reading is left blank, it stays blank. Auxo Workshop no longer fills it in automatically using the vehicle's last known reading.
To help you enter the correct value, the vehicle's previous reading is shown alongside the input fields as a separate reference, labelled with the date it was recorded. This is for reference only, it does not get copied into the field for you.
🔓 Correcting a Reading After Invoicing
You can edit a job's readings after it has been invoiced, whatever the invoice's payment status (Not Paid, Partially Paid, or Paid).
Open the Readings card on the job and update the field directly, the same way you would on a job that hasn't been invoiced yet.
Reprinting or re-emailing the invoice will show the corrected reading, since the invoice document is generated fresh from the job each time.
💡 Tip: On a collapsed job card, the small edit icon next to the reading disappears once a job is Invoiced or Collected. This can make it look like the reading is locked. It isn't, click the Readings tile to expand it and the fields are still there to update.
⚠️ Important: Correcting a reading on an invoiced job updates that job and its invoice, but it does not always update the vehicle's own reading shown on its Vehicle Details page. In particular, a corrected reading that's lower than what's currently on the vehicle's record will not bring that record down, and once a job reaches the Collected stage, edits stop updating the vehicle's record at all. If the vehicle's own reading needs correcting, update it directly from the Vehicle Details page.
