This article explains how to create a SmartCheck Pro inspection directly from a job in Auxo Workshop, how inspections are linked to services, and how to view inspection progress while work is underway.
SmartCheck Pro inspections created this way are automatically linked to the job and service, making it easy to track inspection progress without leaving the job.
𧩠Before you start
SmartCheck Pro addβon: SmartCheck Pro must be enabled on your Auxo Workshop account.
Job structure: Inspections are created from individual services within a job, not from the job header.
User Role: The user creating the inspection from the job must have either an 'admin' or 'inspector' role assigned to their user account in Smartcheck Pro.
β Create an inspection from a job
To create a SmartCheck Pro inspection from a job:
Open the relevant job in Auxo Workshop.
Locate the service you want to attach the inspection to.
Click the More actions menu ( β¦ ) on the service.
Select New inspection.
Once created:
A new inspection is created in SmartCheck Pro with a Booked status.
The inspection number appears in the header of the service:
π Open the linked inspection
Click the inspection number shown in the service header.
The inspection opens in SmartCheck Pro in a new browser tab.
Even though SmartCheck Pro opens in a separate environment, the inspection remains linked to the job and service in Auxo Workshop.
π See Accessing SmartCheck Pro for other ways to open SmartCheck Pro, including adding it to your home screen for quick daily access.
π Track inspection progress from the job
As the inspection is completed in SmartCheck Pro, Auxo Workshop shows live inspection status in the service header, including:
Progress: Number of inspection sections completed, shown with a progress bar.
Results overview: Icons indicating passed, warning, failed, and not applicable checks.
This allows service advisors and admins to monitor inspection progress without opening SmartCheck Pro.
β Viewing and printing a completed checksheet from Auxo Workshop
Once an inspection is completed in SmartCheck Pro, the result appears on the linked service in Auxo Workshop as a PASS or FAIL badge alongside the checksheet number.
To view the checksheet summary:
Click the More actions menu ( β¦ ) on the service.
Select View Checksheet Details.
A summary of the checksheet opens, showing the result, checksheet number, and for passed inspections, the WOF approval details.
To print the checksheet, click the print icon in the summary. SmartCheck Pro opens in a new browser tab with the checksheet ready to print.
π Note: For a passed inspection to show as PASS and be printable using this method, the inspection must be fully completed in SmartCheck Pro, including entering the WOF Label number and NZTA Authorisation number in the final step. These fields are not required for a failed inspection, as no WOF label is issued when an inspection fails.
π« Removing a service with an inspection
Once an inspection is linked to a service:
The Remove service option is disabled in the More actions menu ( β¦ ):
This prevents services linked to inspections from being removed accidentally.
To remove the service, the inspection must be cancelled first.
β Cancel a linked inspection
If an inspection is no longer required:
This removes the link between the service and the inspection, and the service can then be removed if needed.
π View the inspection in SmartCheck Pro
Inspections created from jobs also appear in the Inspection List in SmartCheck Pro with a Booked status until work begins.
β
From there, inspections can be completed as normal in SmartCheck Pro.
π Rechecks and failed inspections
Rechecks are managed within SmartCheck Pro and are linked to the original inspection, not to a job in Auxo Workshop.
If the recheck takes place after the original job has been closed, create a new job in Auxo Workshop to log any labour and parts for the recheck.
π Note: The new job will not be linked to SmartCheck Pro or to the original inspection. This is expected behaviour. The original inspection remains linked to the original job, keeping your records intact.
